Shanghai
Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, Automotive Branch
("Automotive Branch") is a sub-association approved by
Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment ("SAEFI")
and by Shanghai Foreign Economic Relations & Trade Commission.
It is registered in the Shanghai Administration of Mass Organization
and officially established in March 2003 after the registration.
Automotive Branch shall carry on its work under the guidance of
SAEFI and in accordance with the decisions made by the Chairmen's
Conference.
The purpose of Automotive Branch is that to defend the legal rights
and interests of its member enterprises; to promote the communication
and understanding between Chinese and foreign partners and between
members, their upper administration and government departments;
to play the role of "Service, Representation, Bridge and Coordination"
and to facilitate its member enterprises actively participating
in activities for the development and globalization of Shanghai
Automotive Industry.
The major tasks of the Automotive Branch is: Publicizing the state
and municipal laws, rules and regulations in automotive industry
and foreign investment; Providing information and consulting service
in the area of automotive industry to its members; to protect the
legal rights and interests of its members, Chinese and foreign investors;
Listening to suggestions and opinions from its members and forward
them to the relevant authorities; Sponsoring various kinds of lectures,
seminars and training needed by its members; helping its members
to find appropriate foreign partners; Organizing various forms of
get-together and communication activities in order to strengthen
the mutual understanding and support between the member enterprises,
relevant government departments and international automotive groups.
The leadership of the Automotive Branch is the Chairman and Vice
Chairmen. The secretariat is in charge of the routine matters of
the Automotive Branch.
